China Facebook Users Exceeded 700,000

BEIJING, Feb 10, 2011 (SinoCast Daily Business Beat via COMTEX) -- The number of users of Facebook, a social utility that connects people with friends and others who work, study and live around them, in China has exceeded 700,000.

Foreign media said that the number of Facebook users has grown sharply in the recent two months, from 300,000 to more than 700,000, although it is unknown if the company can march into China smoothly.

Analysts attributed the sharp growth mainly to that Facebook pioneer Mark Zuckerberg visited China. The pioneer contacted with leading Internet companies in China, such as Baidu Inc., SINA, and Taobao to win many exposure and attract a large amount of attentions from Internet users in China. Besides, a large number of Chinese tourists traveled overseas in the Chinese Spring Festival Period ended on February 9, 2011, which is said to be likely increase the number of registered users of Facebook.
