FED:Xmas Island survivors flown back = 2

Refugee advocates had pleaded in vain with the immigration minister to use his discretion
to allow the grieving survivors to stay in Sydney while their claims are processed.

They filed a request with the Human Rights Commissioner this morning .. unaware the
detainees were being secretely ushered for their charter flight back to Christmas Island.
