SA: Newsman charged with murder may apply for bail

Former Adelaide newsman JOHN TRENORDEN has indicated he'll apply for bail after briefly
appearing in court charged with murder.

The 53-year-old was arrested early yesterday following the discovery of a woman's body
in an apartment at seaside Glenelg on Saturday.

TRENORDEN, who appeared in the Adelaide Magistrates Court, was not required to enter
a plea and made no application for bail.

However his lawyer, MICHAEL WOODS, foreshadowed he would seek bail at another court
appearance in two weeks.

TRENORDEN's been charged with the murder of 51-year-old PENELOPE RAE CHRISTOPHER.

TRENORDEN was remanded in police custody to reappear on February 13.
